Literally ‘blue ocean tray’, the name of this series comes from the marks produced in the hammering process, which resembles blue sea ripples. The design is based on a tray which has been used for tea ceremonies since the Middle Ages. This method of production has roots in the foundation of lacquerware which was born out of replicating metal dishes. Though designed for tea ceremony, can also be used as a tray or plate.
