This dish was commissioned by the tea ceremony master, Soshin Kimura, for the annual Hoshinkai New Year's Tea Ceremony. The plates are simple, beautiful and versatile enough to be used not only for tea ceremonies but also for everyday dining. That miscellaneous utensils were chosen and used for tea was considered innovative. Now it is a new attempt to bring tea utensils back into everyday life.
